CDNA announces Spring 2020 Season Cancelled

CDNA Announces Spring 2020 Season Cancelled (and new CDNA Committee Members)

Please find below some important communications from CDNA's new Committee. It is all very significant so please take the time to digest it all.

"Hello to all clubs and entity teams.
My name is Greer Symons and I am a new member of the CDNA Committee of Management.
Before we proceed with an update for the remainder of 2020, I would like to present to you the new Committee elected at the recent Annual General Meeting:
We wish to acknowledge and say a huge thank you to the outgoing Committee:  Leanne Doyle, Linda Sim, Kylie Owen & Christina O’Connor.  You have all done an outstanding job in running the Association in your many years on board.
We also wish to acknowledge and thank our ongoing office and other support staff:
Thank you for your continued support and we all look forward to working with you.
Penny will continue to update you with all things Netball including Committee communication as she has done so in the past.  The following is an important update from Penny as advised by the new Committee:
Hi everyone,
I am writing to advise you of CDNA’s decision to cancel the 2020 spring domestic season
This decision was obviously an incredibly difficult one and we wholeheartedly appreciate that it is a disappointing end to the season we started so long ago. However, we sincerely hope that it helps everyone continue to move forward with some sense of clarity and to help start to look ahead to what we all hope is a happy and successful 2021.
We really wanted to help alleviate some of the pressure this year has brought upon everyone in so many ways, so the decision has also been made to offer our clubs and entity teams a full refund of all of the monies paid to us for this year.
We therefore now ask for the following from you all:
  1. You email me through your bank details for your club refund
  2. You forward this message onto your members, however you see fit
I will continue to be working if you have any questions or need any help with anything at all. I will be making sure I keep you updated with anything new and any information from both the CDNA and the broader netball community too.
Please take care and I look forward to speaking with you all soon.
Warm regards
Penny.
On behalf of the new Committee of Management and Penny, I wish you all the very best for the rest of 2020.
Kind regards,
Greer Symons"

Now - what does this mean for St Anthony's members? Processing refunds for club fees paid for Autumn 2020 will be an administrative nightmare. As the existing committee will be dissolved in just over 10 days time, a final decision on how our club will deal with individual refunds will be up to the new committee.

However, the existing committee would encourage/request members who are planning to play in the Autumn 2021 season to not request a refund and instead apply the club fees already paid to Autumn Season 2021. This will save us a huge administrative effort - noting that Autumn 2021 registrations would have started in late October anyway.  If you definitely do not intend to play netball in 2021 then please let your Team Manager know first then apply for a refund. Also, any member in a difficult financial situation may also apply for a refund by contacting (in confidence) either:-
